The Karoo Desert National Botanical Garden is like no other. Located in a town called Worcester, with its variety of desert-loving vegetation and plants flowering at different times of the year, the gardens are worth visiting at any time. To get a taste of the Namaqualand daisies, I recommend visiting during the spring season (August/September).
There is such diversity that something will be showing off its colours in the gardens. When I went at the end of the summer season, March, the dusty pink candelabra lilies were around to appreciate. The gardens also have the giant quiver trees and plenty more unusual succulent plants to boast about.
