Smaller towns have fewer places that cater for those who lead different lifestyles, and being vegan, it’s easy to encounter judgmental challenges. Yet, I was met with communities that were pleasantly hospitable and happily accommodating…
Being a wine valley catering too, as a wedding-venue haven, most cafes and restaurants have the understanding and awareness. And, in my opinion, the eateries I had chosen to visit didn’t disappoint. I was met with delicious plates of food.
Even though some of the places I visited didn’t have vegan options on their menu, they were kind-spirited enough to assist. One of them being the Homegrown Bakery Cafe in Ceres. I had a fantastic lunch here after the drive through Bain’s Kloof Pass, and just loved the countryside atmosphere with its modern twist.
My visit to Wellington was pure leisure for the soul…mountains, countryside drives, delightful food.. I was left with feelings of complete contentment.
