Chimp Eden

Chimp Eden is Jane Goodall’s sanctuary for rescued chimpanzees. The sanctuary is a place for chimpanzees that cannot be returned to the wild. These animals have been rescued from all kinds of inhumane conditions. Jane Goodall has more chimpanzee sanctuaries on the African continent, and this particular one is the only chimpanzee sanctuary in South Africa.

These sanctuaries are so important to have around, as they end up being the only home for these animals. They are safe havens where the rescued animals no longer have the stress in interacting with humans again. The sanctuary provides the best possible environment that’s close enough to a natural life they once had before it was taken away from them.

Visitors are take on a short tour around the sanctuary to view the rescued chimpanzees. There is a lot of information and stories inside the center too about each chimpanzee and how they came to the sanctuary. The entrance fee and other donations go towards feeding and taking care of the chimpanzees.
